Holy Shit! Just received Blotted Science-The Machinations of Dementia.
Hey! Devoraz! Now I know what you're talking about. Must get Spastik Ink also. What else do you recommend in the same vein?

Ehh. I don't know what I recommended already, but the new, upcoming Believer album should be very interesting.

Blotted Science's CD is OK, but imho (In My Humble Opinion) they "failed" to write memorable tunes... Musically they kill though!!!
And if the stakes are high now, just take them higher... |

The beauty of this masterpiece is in that strange scales and measures,I don`t think, that Ron Jarzombek worried about easiness of memorizing of his music I needed to listen this album no less than ten times before I can to realize what it is |

Repeated listens are in order so as to "know" what is going on, though all Mekong Delta records are diverse and technical (for example) but after 10-20 listens one does remember the tunes and the songs... Imo 90% of instrumental music is just warming-up workouts for musicians and not really oriented for casual - "advanced" or "not" - music fans
And if the stakes are high now, just take them higher... |

Yes, Believer is a Christian band (they have a christian background), but not in a way you might think. The are not preaching the word, but use tiny pieces of text from the bible to get their social and political point across. I must say they used a lot less biblical text for this album than they did on previous albums. It's an absolutely mind-blowing album. I listened to it a lot the last couple of days and it grows on you. Every time I hear it, it's getting better!

the solo albums of Ron Jarzombek are also killer !
otherwise, you have bands like Scale The Smmit, Sleep Terror (more Necrophagist instrumental like though) and Ansur (with very few vocals but the music is magnificent)
