The album is nearing completion. It has become clear that the story that began with one song (Shades of Doom), followed by half an album (Rondo for Rockgroup 'Dances of death') is continued as a full album on 'Wanderer on the edge of time'. More progressive than Mekong Delta has ever done, this album will definitely beat 'Dance of Death' as Mekong's finest. Martin's vocals are superb and the music on the album 'flows' like a stream. (I don't know how else to describe it). Mekong Delta is attempting to release the album in May, but there has been no confirmation of any date what so ever. Negotiations concerning distribution are still in progress...
I know many of you favor 'Dances of Death' as Mekong Delta's best work. Those of you who feel this way must prepare themselves. You probably want to reconsider your opinion after the new album is released. I'm privileged to have heard the instrumental version of 'Wanderer on the edge of time' and you will be amazed and surprised. From beginning to end this music will take you completely off this world (personal opinion) even though I haven't heard the vocals yet, but this can only make this even better. Some things are typically Mekong Delta as we know them, but there are parts in which Mekong Delta plays like they have never done before. I wish I could share it with you, but you'll have to be patient. Hopefully Mekong Delta will release a track to be placed on the website. Until then... (I just made things more unbearable for you all, didn't I?)
The rough mix of 'Wanderer on the edge of time' is ready. Besides some small adjustments this will probably also the final mix. This means the album is done. How long it's going to take before the album is officially released, I can't say. Hopefully we will be able to give you a small preview long before that.
Mekong Delta has been asked to play at the Headbanger's Open Air, which will take place between the 29th and 31st of July 2010 in Brande/Hornerkirchen-Elmshorn, Hamburg. I have no idea which of the three days Mekong Delta will be on stage, but be sure not to miss them.
I have been informed that most of the work on the new album is done. The final thing to do is mixing, but that's gonna take some time since the songs are pretty complex and full of instrumentation. I've had the opportinity to hear 2 pieces of the upcoming album and they blew me away. This will definitely be the best work Mekong Delta has done so far (personal opinion). By the end of this month the rough mix will (hopefully) be ready and Mekong Delta will decide which track will be used as a preview on the website. Be prepared... I really think this stuff is absolutely mindblowing!!!
I have been cleaning our members database again. There were a lot of accounts that were created but never logged in. These are removed from our database.
Also the people that logged into the website for the last time OVER a year ago (anyone who hasn't logged in after 1-1-2009) have been removed from the database.
If you're one of the unlucky ones, you can always re-apply. I'm sorry I have to do this, but there are too many accounts that are fake and are used to (try to) hack into the website.
We have added a new online media player for the songs that used to be on the left side of the website. In the navigation panel, you'll find a link, called: Online Audio.
Here you can listen to the tracks that used to be on the main page. This player is better than the old one and supports better ways to control the playlist. Also 'Rules of corruption' has been added to the playlist!
The last two weeks have been used to finish the vocals of the new album. Mekong Delta is very pleased and satisfied with Martin's work. The final stage of recording is adding some guitarwork to complete the songs. This will be done in the following 2-3 weeks. After this, Mekong Delta will make a rough mix for themselves to determine what to use, what to replace and what to leave as it is.
When Mekong Delta is pleased with the result of that, you will be treated with some parts of songs of the new album. Just a little more patience...
All concert guitars have been recorded and starting October 3rd the vocals will be recorded. Martin is very well prepared and Mekong Delta hopes to have the vocals recorded in a time frame of 6 days. We'll keep you posted, of course!
Mekong Delta has paused recording their new album to be able to practice for the upcoming Hardrocker Festival II in Poland. Previous reports mentioned it would be held in Bielsko-Biala (Rudeboy Club), but this edition of the festival will be held at:
The website needs to be updated to keep up with security issues and outdated features. Therefor I'm going to work on the website tonight. Somewhere around 9 pm (local time) I will shut down the website for a while and make the necessary changes. Thanks for your understanding. Hopefully the updates will make the site better.
