Not long now…

It’s been a hell of a job. Pretty complex songs, mixing and mastering, getting everyone on board with the final mix, but… it’s done! We will start making the final CD master cut this Friday.

We hope we can release the new album as soon as possible. Just bear with us. It won’t be long now.

Almost…

Here’s a word from Ralf himself:

Hallo an Alle,

https://www.facebook.com/DavidDemaretofficial).

2. CD backprogramm

Ralf Hubert / Mekong Delta

1. new album

Incredible, but we actually made it, all the recordings are completed and through the long time we took for it, we could realise the desired high technical level of playing The Roughmixes we created for final inspection were considered good by all of us and so we are now at the state of mixdown, which should probably be done next week.

In the appendix I inserted the coverpic, which was selected by us. In
our opinion It reflects the album title best and has us all excited immediately – when I mailed the possible designs to my fellow musicians It was clear within an hour that this was the favorite (never happened before). It was created by the French artist David Demaret
(
https://www.facebook.com/DavidDemaretofficial).

When the mix is complete, there is more info.

2. cd backprogram

“The Music of Erich Zann” is now also available as DigiBook, looks just
as class like the “Mekong 1st” re – release. As usual I ordered a contingent for the fans, so who is interrested, please contact me at this e-mail address.

regards,

Ralf Hubert / Mekong Delta

The cover art Ralf is talking about you already saw in previous post. The mentioned mail address is the following:

News about ‘Tales…’

A new chapter is dawning in the musical playground that is Mekong Delta. The recording of ‘Tales of a Future Past’ is (finally) done. The technical level of the songs on the new album was pretty high and took more time to record than anticipated. A few weeks back the band was very pleased with the rough mix of the new album and final mixing of the album has been started right after that. There has been a delay with the final mix due to some unforeseen, personal circumstances. Since almost 70% of the songs was already done before previous mentioned circumstances happened, the estimate of time to complete the mix will be about 14 days. We will keep you informed of the actual release date.

Also… here’s a small version of what will be the album cover for ‘Tales of a Future Past’. Artwork is done by french concept artist David Demaret.

Low-res cover of ‘Tales of a Future Past’

Title of the new album announced!

The following statement was released today by Mekong Delta’s main man, Ralf Hubert…

Hallo an Alle,

Ralf Hubert / Mekong Delta

1. new album

yes, this time really took a long time with the recordings, from the technical side of playing it was was far more complicated than I thought. And since I do not belong to those people, who like to bother you with every little one Step through email, there is only now something to report, because … guitar, bass and drum recording are complete and the pilot vocals are done, too. Had in between times the impression that I went to far this time (the bass recordings, for example, almost needed 3 weeks). But I can rely on my fellow musicians. If something does not work, it is practiced until it works. I can tell you the the album title now also, we are up for “Tales of a Future Past“. What’s next so ? It looks like the final vocals will be done in the middle of next Month, so the release is scheduled for August.

2. cd back catalog

Since the CDs were all sold out except for two titles, I had to think about whether I should repress them all, what you have to think well considering the free downloads everywhere. Fortunately, this decision was taken away from me because a friend label asked me if I would agree if they repress the back catalog as Digibook. Since I already have very positive experiences with other old releases they made I agreed. So, and now I got it here, the Digibook from the first album, multilateral and with the original master which was used also for the vinyl re – release. Usually I am very careful with superlatives, but what I hold here in my hand is next to the vinyl optically the best thing ever made of this. As usual I have ordered a small contingent for the fans, so if you have interest, please contact me at the merchandising e-mail address. “E. Zann” is also in preparation, I released the graphic layout this morning.

Thats all for now, regards

Ralf Hubert / Mekong Delta

New album in progress…

Yesterday a lot of fans (including myself) received an e-mail from Ralf. Here is his official statement:

German :

Weitere Infos folgen.

English :

Mekong Delta has started the recording of their new album, release date is planned for early 2019. Peter Lake (ex-Theory in Practice), who already worked together with Ralf Hubert on the “Lurking Fear” album (2007), joins in again for guitar support. More info will follow.

This will be the follow-up of Mekong Delta’s “In The Mirror Darkly”, which was released in 2014.

“Kaleidoscope”-vinyl is coming…

For English, see below

Hallo an Alle,

Ralf Hubert / Mekong Delta

English :

Hello to all of you,

the 5th Mekong Delta release on Vinyl, “Kaleidoscope”( the first one direct from Mekong Delta ), will be
available for fans first in about 2 weeks, as 140g vinyl in 3mm sleeve with an b/w printed innersleeve.
As the CD cover, caused by all the re – releases, is far away from the original Cover ( the violin is cutted
on the right for example ), we spent a lot of time in restaurating the original painting so that we can use
it for this vinyl release. A lot of Details are visible again now, its quite different from the CD covers used
over the years. Further more we used the original audio CD as base for the master, as through all the
CD replications over the years, the glassmaster got some digital errors which will not be on the LP.

As this vinyl re – release will be a limited again, those of you who are interrested  should drop me a mail
so that I can reserve a copy. Beside the normal album orders for signed whitelabels are possible again.
Those will be available starting next week.

Best regards,

Ralf Hubert / Mekong Delta

It’s been a while…

Yes, yes, I know. It’s been a while since you heard from me and/or the band. The last time, before all the re-releases, we spoke about the “Suits and Fragments” album. Well… there’s good news and bad news.

The good news is, it’s going well with the collection of songs for the “Suits and Fragments”-album. The bad news is, it has been postponed yet again.

Since working on that album gave Ralf so much new stuff he has decided to start working on a new album first. There are no concrete songs made at this moment. Ralf is working on a musical draft which he hopes to finish this month. After that the actual writing and composing can start, so there is a new album in the making but it will take probably the rest of this year. Of course we will try to keep you up to date with the progress made.

MEKONG DELTA will also start to organize their own tour, since playing only once every two months isn’t very economic. It costs too much just to do one gig, so they’re looking for venues to play more than once or more venues in a general area. If you can provide us with venues for MEKONG DELTA to play meeting these conditions, please let us know. Your input is greatly appreciated.

…and there will be a re-release of the ‘Kaleidoscope’-album on vinyl. The original plan was to do only the first 4 albums, but Ralf decided to do the Kaleidoscope album as well. Keep an eye out on the website to find out when this is going to be released. Due to the rising costs to make vinyl albums, this re-release will be either 140 grams (in stead of the 180 grams like the other 4) or € 1,– on top of the previous price.

Re-release ‘Dances of Death (and other walking shadows)’

OK, the fourth album is also ready for a limited re-release. I received an e-mail from him a week ago. Here’s Ralf’s anouncement:

Hello to all of you,

the 4th Mekong Delta re – release on Vinyl, “Dances of Death”, will be available for fans first
in about 2 weeks, again as 180g vinyl in 3mm sleeve with an b/w printed innersleeve. As the CD cover,
caused by all the re – releases, is far away from the original Cover, we spent a lot of time in restaurating
the original painting so that we can use it for this vinyl re – release. A lot of Details are visible again now,
its quite different from the CD covers used over the years.

As this vinyl re – release will be a limited again, those of you who are interrested  should drop me a mail
so that I can reserve a copy. Beside the normal album orders for signed whitelabels
are possible again. Those will be available starting end of this week.

Best regards,

Ralf Hubert / Mekong Delta

So in about a week the re-release will be available.

Site make-over

Since I’m always busy with other things, like my radio show, recording and mixing music for a couple of friends, and lots of other stuff I like doing in my spare time, I sometimes forget to maintain this website. Hopefully that’s going to change. I’m gonna make myself a promise to spent some time on the website at least once a week. There for I’m also gonna do a make-over of the website. I never was quite happy with the last ‘look’ of the site, so changes are going to be made both in appearance and functionality. The way the site looks now is not the final product. Still figuring out what works best. If you have any suggestions for the website, you’re welcome to contact me.
